With the new intelligent Low Beam Assist function

The world-first Linear-18 Elite with Intelligent Low Beam Assist redefines the performance and functionality of LED auxiliary high beams. A combination of the latest high-efficiency LEDs delivers a finely tuned, road-optimized beam pattern that is simply unrivaled considering the lamp's slim proportions. Thanks to two photoelectric sensors embedded in the high beam, the lamp switches to low beam mode when the high beam is turned off, maintaining additional illumination in areas where no oncoming vehicles or obstacles are visible.

With an array of 48 LEDs, each bulb produces an incredible 18,000 raw lumens, nearly 50% more than the equivalent product without Intelligent Low Beam Assist. This superior light output delivers exceptional long-range illumination of 1 lux at 522 m and an incredible 64-degree left/right spread for our safest and most relaxed night driving experience. When Intelligent Low Beam Assist is activated, the high-power LEDs (which provide the distance lighting) are deactivated when the standard high beam is switched off. Excellent near- and mid-range visibility is maintained as the bulb monitors oncoming traffic. At the appropriate time, the additional lighting on both sides of the road is deactivated to avoid dazzling oncoming vehicles. Once the vehicle has passed, the lamp automatically returns to low beam mode (provided no other vehicles or obstacles are detected in front of the vehicle), or it returns to high beam mode if it has been activated (either manually or as part of the vehicle's automatic headlight function).

Each sensor in the light monitors road conditions more than 30 times per second, ensuring performance and functionality that feels safe and reliable. The continuous recalibration of these sensors ensures the light responds to changing environmental conditions during operation, whether it's shifting weather or obstructions such as dirt, dust, or snow. In Low Beam Assist mode, the light also reacts to other light-emitting objects ahead of the driver, including medium/large road signs, streetlights, and other reflective obstacles. A carefully chosen delay in the Low Beam Assist reactivation prevents potentially distracting on/off switching of the additional roadside lighting, while an additional switch on the supplied wiring harness allows for the temporary deactivation of the Low Beam Assist function when necessary.

The light is certified as a high beam according to ECE Regulation 112, and thanks to the dual-output E-Boost technology, the light output can be increased beyond the limits of ECE Regulation 112 when driving off-road or where permitted by country-specific laws. The low beam assist is a new, patent-pending technology for which there are currently no legal regulations. The aforementioned secondary switch allows the function to be deactivated if the laws of the respective country prohibit its use.
